Galen lives in Newport and is a Guidance Counselor at a RI High school. She was the program director at a Yacht Club on Cape Cod for 4 years, and is excited to be joining Ida this summer. She is a graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland, where she was a 2 time All-American Crew.
Mark Dinneen: Head Instructor & 420 Race Coach
Mark worked at Ida a couple of summers ago and is very excited to come back this summer. He is currently the Assistant Coach at Bowdoin College, and grew up sailing in Mass Bay.
Lucy Wallace: Opti Beginner Instructor
Lucy grew up sailing junior sailing at Ida Lewis. She competed in high school sailing at the Portsmouth Abbey, and is now sailing on the Varsity Sailing Team at Boston College.
Sarah Borup: Opti Intermediate Instructor
Sarah grew up sailing on the Toms River in New Jersey. For the past five years she has coached Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Racing Optis at a yacht club in New Jersey. This past May she graduated from Hobart & William Smith Colleges and was part of the sailing team.
Cole Allsopp: Beginner Opti. Race Team
Cole is a Jr. at The College of Charleston, where he is a member of the sailing team. He grew up in Annpolis, MD, and has taught sailing for many summers in a variety of places.
Shelby Aughtry: Hunter and Commodores in Trainig Instructor
Shelby grew up in Oklahoma and is currently the captain of the Oklahoma Univ. Sailing Team. She has travelled the country sailing in a vast amount of competitive events.
